http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/science/topics/globalwarming/index.html
VOCABULARY:

unequivocal: having only one possible meaning or interpretation
smokestacks: A large chimney or vertical pipe through which combustion vapors, gases, and smoke are discharged.
underway: occurring while under way

MAIN IDEAS:

The article talks about global warming in the world and how humans are the main cause of it. By destroying forests and releasing carbon dioxide to the atmosfere, producing the greehouse effect, and increasing the world`s temperature. Also, it states that the sea will rease it`s level causing damages to a lot of people.

PERSONAL REACTION:

We hear more and more about global warming every day. Now is the time to focus on global warming solutions. I personally think the problem is something we can`t avoid now a days, industries are necesary, cars as well, end they both contaminate. We can`t go back in time, where people used what nature gave them. What we can do, is try to reduce contamination. We have the technology and the sources to reduce the threat of global warming today. By investing in renewable energy ( wind, solar, etc) and increasing the efficiency of the cars we drive, we can take essential steps toward reducing our dependence on oil and our emissions of heat-trapping gases.
The other issue is deforestation, which i belive can be avoided, and if not, people should plant other trees insterad in order to protect the "lungs of the world".
